1. Keep the Water Balanced and Clean

Water quality is paramount when it comes to spa maintenance, especially in the summer. Regularly testing the water for pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer levels is key. We recommend testing the water at least twice a week since higher temperatures can lead to quicker chemical imbalances. Use high-quality test strips to monitor your water chemistry. Ensure the pH remains between 7.4 and 7.6 and alkalinity between 80-120 ppm to prevent equipment corrosion and skin irritation. Adjust the levels using pH increasers or reducers and alkalinity boosters as necessary. Moreover, keep an eye on the sanitizer levels. Whether you’re using chlorine or bromine, maintaining the correct concentration is essential for keeping the water clean and germ-free.

2. Change Your Water

Additionally, although water can feel cooling, it amplifies the sun’s rays, making sunburn more likely. Apply a water-resistant sunscreen before your soak to protect your skin.

Create a soothing atmosphere by enhancing the area around your hot tub. Consider adding outdoor lighting, waterproof pillows, and maybe even outdoor speakers for music.
